If you want Unix machines to access Windows servers, you're best bet is going to be Samba. Samba clients allow unix machines to "see" NTFS shares, and Samba servers (on unix) allow windows machines to "see" NTFS on unix machines.

On the Windows side, no SFU or any other modifications are needed other than what you would do for Windows clients (create share, set up permissions, etc.).
