I am new to this subject and we have an existing system using mod_auth_vas on apache 2.2 which authenticates successfully with domain and forest trusts. However we some older AD versions which only allow external trusts and users in these domains are unable to access the web site - they receive the windows NTLM error page.
My understanding is that external trusts do not support kerberos/qas only NTLM and we are looking at changing to use mod_ntlm. However, is there anyway we can use MAV as is and still authenticate against these external trusts?
If not, can I use the AuthVasUseBasic parameter so that ntlm users can still be authenticated via MAV?
